Aims and Scope

Journal of Navigation and Port Research publishes articles and short communications on new research in the field of ship operations, ship systems, maritime traffic safety, port operations, port infrastructure, and logistics. The papers contain original methodologies, ideas, and research for prospective and observational techniques, as well as results of new policies and their impact on marine industries.

In 2002, "Journal of the Korean Institute of Navigation" and "Journal of the Korean Institute of Port Research" were merged and "The Journal of Navigation and Port Research" was launched. The Journal of Navigation and Port Research is published bi-monthly in February, April, June, August, October, and December. Occasionally, the Korean Institute of Navigation and Port Research (KINPR) will also publish special issues containing detailed descriptions of research. Full text XML and PDF files of Journal of Navigation and Port Research are also available at the official website(

Manuscripts for Publication

This journal uses JAMS 2.0 to peer review manuscript submissions. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided in this site. Every manuscript is strictly reviewed by three referees and final acceptance decision is made based on the review reports.

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as – tacitly or explicitly – by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out. Transfer of copyright to KINPR becomes effective if and when the article is accepted for publication. All articles published in this journal are protected by copyright, which covers the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article (e.g., as offprints), as well as all translation rights. The copyright owner's consent does not include copying for general distribution, promotion, new works, or resale. In these cases, specific written permission must first be obtained from the publishers.

This journal is published and distributed by the Korean Institute of Navigation and Port Research.

This journal was supported by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) Grant, funded by the Korean Government.
